SEATTLE - Victor David, a man jailed for the long-term abuse of his disabled wife on their houseboat was returned to his native Canada earlier this month, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Wednesday.

David, 66, was convicted in 2001 of beating and imprisoning his disabled wife Linda for years on a filthy sailboat near Everett, leaving her scarred and brain damaged.

Following his conviction, David served five years in state prison. He was released in August and turned over to immigration authorities. He did not fight the deportation and arrived in Canada Sept. 15, authorities said.
