Well I did it!

Current mood: accomplished

I went in and joined Curves today. It'll be $30 a month, but a very well spent $30 a month. I'm very excited. The sign up fee was waived because I brought in a bag of non perishable food for their food drive, so that saved me $145 too :D. I'm very happy about this, because I've needed to do something of the sorts for a very long time and wanted to as well and just never did. So now I've done it and I have my first training/workout tomorrow. :D Yea! So look for a slimmer me by my next birthday/christmas... So I want new clothes people ;) heh heh...

argh!

Current mood: annoyed

I know I shouldn't complain, but I'm going to anyhow. I went to bed after midnight last night because I wanted to stay up late for once. That was silly of me... Alex got up at freaking 5:30 because his diaper leaked and hasn't gone back to sleep since. I'm so freaking tired I'm like a zombie. I know others get up well before that with just as little sleep, but I just don't function without sleep. That and I get REALLY bitchy. Thank god I don't have to work today, I'll take a nap later if I can!

Great Day!

The temperature out was a bit chilly, but aside from that, it was a fantabulous day. Got to sleep in, even though I hadn't planned on even trying to, seeing as how I wanted to be up and out the door by 9 to head to the zoo. Well, got out of her shortly before 11, so a little behind schedule. Went and picked up Kelly and the kids and headed for the zoo. No line really (like 5 people ahead of us) and all the parking you could possibly want. We parked in the slightly out of the way free parking in the north lot (the north gate is closed during construction or something). But hey, it was free! The kids behaved themselves the entire time, didn't have a lot of crowds to deal with, and quite a few of the animals that were hiding last time were out, and most of the ones we just plain missed our last trip were out and about. Got some great zoo pics to scrapbook between the two recent trips to the zoo. Today's yielded a couple fabulous photo's of bald eagles and I'm going to print out and frame one for my dad for his birthday. if only I'd had a better resolution camera, then it would have been cooler.. I think it'll be fine for a 4x6 print though... Anyhow, the day was great, went out to a late lunch early dinner then came back here for a few. Come to find that the "watchmaker cases" I'd ordered last weekend had arrived. Open up the box all excited to find that they weren't what I was expecting. They were waaaaay smaller than I wanted. Luckily the company I ordered them from is cool and includes a postage paid return postage card and gives a 100 percent refund. So I'll be returning them Monday and looking for what I really want... After taking Kelly and the kids home, the boys and I hit the mall and had some coldstone icecream since they were on their best behavior all day. So all in all it was a great day!

Not recommended....

Current mood: sore

I do not recommend falling down half a flight of stairs. Especially hardwood ones and catching your shoulder blade on one of them as you go down...I'm honestly surprised I didn't break something... At least when my sister did it, she just went down butt first and landed on her ass at the bottom laughing and crying at the same time... When I fell, I laid there in shock since I not only landed on my hip and screwed up my shoulder, but I hit my head as well... Time for some sort of gripper strips on those stairs I think... My sister, Ian, Katy, Amanda and I have all fallen down them now!

Update on the poo situation...and a vent

okay, so here's the update on our "poopy" situation around here... And some more insight... Quite often we get the "blame" for things that go awry around here. If it's something a child has done, it obviously was one of my boys that did it (whether they did or not). If it's something wrong with the computer then it's something Vicki must have done to it (when all she does is read fan fictions on safe sites, check her hotmail and use messenger). So this time, it was "obviously" one of "us" that "broke"/ backed up the sewer line as once again, one of us was the one to find the issue and report it. Right after Vicki let them know what was going on, they started talking amongst themselves and then moved to another room to finish said conversation out of earshot. While I know we've invaded their home, and have kind of turned their "perfect" little world sideways, and I've expressed my appreciation for their hospitality on many occasions (as well as give them what money I can afford to try and offset the added water and power we consume, and buy groceries that are shared by most in the house) it still doesn't warrant being the "fall guys" for every "wrong" that happens around here. At least in my opinion it doesn't. So I think it was pretty shitty (forgive the pun) for the assumption to be automatically made that it was something that was caused by us. So anyhow, on to the update on the sewer situation... I'm happy to report, it was something COMPLETELY not caused by anyone living in the residence. Nor former occupants of the residence for that matter. The culprit in the sewer issue? A nice tree living in the front yard. Wonderful beautiful tree's roots have decided that the 1960's era pipes from house to city sewer line in the street are in the way. And rather than grow around said pipes, have decided to grow into them. There was a bucketful of tree roots that came out of the sewer line. The guy was like, holy hell that's a lot of tree roots! So $345 later for all the work of cutting and pulling out the roots and cleaning the line, the guy explains above story to us and lets us know that it would probably be a good idea to get yearly root clearing maintenance done on the pipes at around $200 a pop, or remove afore mentioned beautiful wonderful tree that is wrecking havoc on the sewer pipes. My best guess is that beautiful wonderful tree is going to become warm happy firewood before this year is over, lol...

what a day so far...

Okay, so I get home this morning after taking a fairly quick trip to Redmond and barely get in the door to a "the toilet backed up into the tub downstairs!!!! help!!!!" Peachy... my bath poufy thingy was in the tub (that's what I get for leaving it there, argh) when it happened, and it is now in the garbage. Someone took a monster poo and it backed up in the toilet and tub. Wonderful. So we're trying liquid plumber to see if that fixes the issue, or if we have to call out a live plumber to fix the issue... Not so happy. Have to throw out the shower curtain liner as well, as that's covered in poo water as well... Blech. It was needing to be cleaned or tossed anyhow... So now I'm waiting to see if that all works out and then I'm going to the store for a few necessary things... Then, after getting the poo news I got on the phone to make arrangements for the stupid court ordered classes I have to take. That's not working out so well either. I hate government offices sometimes... I swear they pick the most retarded people they can find to work there. Enough said about that ;)

irritated...

Okay, so just a little bit ago I get a phone call from someone who found me via the internet by ways of my Tastefully Simple website. So what started off as what I thought might be a business lead for myself, turned out to be a woman from another direct sales company trying to recruit me to join hers! I am absolutely appalled at this. What gives her the right to do that? I don't think that is a very good tactic for recruiting new people to your home sales business and really, it just completely turned me off from her company all together. If ever another person I know has another party by this company, I won't be attending that's for sure. They remind me too much of Amway anyhow, lol... Anyhow, fortunately for me, the phone and internet went out briefly during the phone call, so I didnt' even have to hang up on her myself. lol... Strange, but it's some sort of divine intervention or something I think... lol

Snow and other stuff...

So I went to take Kelly to the P&R this morning to find that it had snowed overnight... Not what I was expecting really... Though last night while we were at the store it had started "raining snowballs". It was like it was hailing, except it wasn't hard hailstones, it was soft squishy snowballs! Really the most strange thing I've seen... and it came with Thunder and possibly lightning... So happy Valentines Day, it's snowy out!

And I also thought I had court at 8:45 this morning when really it's at 1 pm today and then 8 am on thursday... we freaking hooooo! How I got 8:45 for today out of 1 pm and 8 am I don't know...

Zoo!

Took the kids to the zoo today. We had fun. I bought a zoo membership and so now we can go any time we want and not have to worry about the cost of it. I also got 4 free passes, can take 1 free guest, and I think 4 half price guests in each time we go. So that's pretty cool. Then also in the winter we get free parking and the rest of the year we get discounted parking. So that's pretty cool as well. We wound up skipping a good chunk of the place today though cuz it was getting cold and starting to get dark out. But now that we have the membership, we'll have plenty of opportunities to go and catch the rest of it and see all the other critters. I did get some good animal photos, including one of a male lion looking like he was smiling and saying cheese at us, lol... I can't wait to take the kids again, and next time, Alex gets a nap first before we go, lol... Either that or we go in the morning and not early afternoon when he should be napping.

Yea!

Got our income tax money in last night. Took the kids shopping for some new clothes today, got Alex a new carseat cuz his kept trying to break my thumbs and tomorrow, we're going to the zoo! I'm so excited, cuz I've not been to the zoo in ages and Alex hasn't been since he was an itty bitty baby. We're buying a pass, so we'll be able to get in free for a year. With as many kids as we have around here, it'll pay for itself in 1.5 visits. So we'll always have something to take the kids to do during the summer.... What? You're bored? Okay, hop in the van and we'll go to the zoo for a couple hours.... Sounds like a grand time to me :D

Wierd Dreams...

So I had this really freaking weird dream last night. Just another in a long bunch of them I've been having lately... This one featured teleporting, the kids letting fawns in the house repeatedly after being told not to and making them let them out, being on a charter boat in the ocean near Alaska and a huge storm... Oh, and my friend Manny coming to visit... Yeah, it was really odd, lol....

Blargh...

So I guess it's just as well that I missed the big game since I had to work. Damn it. Oh well... So life otherwise is well... got decent hours scheduled for this week. That's helpful as I need to really start saving some $. Kinda hard to do when there's a new expense every time I turn around, but maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get my TS business off the ground again in the next couple months. That would be nice. Time to get off my butt and start getting my name out there again! I'm hopeful, as a friend (thanks Cristi!) gave me some good ideas to work with to help make it happen... Anyhow, got my butt handed to me at trivial pursuit last night. that sucked. So today I'm going to go buy some phase 10 cards and teach him a new game, lol... Think I'll go do that now (buy a new deck that is if I can't find mine, since they're missing :( )

Damn It Jim!!!

Got my schedule for next week... While I'm loving the fact that I have more hours scheduled next week than this week and last week combined, I'm sad I'll be working during the big game. I work 1-close... just in time to miss all the football festivities (unless of course we win, then there will be ongoing festivities, lol)... Ah well, I figured it was going to happen anyhow since I'd forgotten to request the day off...

What a day, what a day!

So I got to sleep in early, bonus there. Took Kelly to work, found out that Michael was right, he does work in the freaking mountains, lol... I was a bit worried I'd make a wrong turn on the way back and get lost, but I didn't and had a very fast drive home. The traffic was perfect. Almost missed my exit from 520 to 405 though... That would have sucked, cuz that would have tacked a lot of drive time onto my commute back. Anyhow, so we went grocery shopping (Vicki, Alex and I) and had a VERY productive trip. First off, coupons are good... club cards even better, and grocery stores screwing up, the best! We hit walmart first, found that Alex's 2 year pics were in early and picked those up. Bonus there... Got the rest of the stuff we were there for and got out. Had perfect traffic getting out of there, and all the way to grocery store #1. Albertsons... just there for a couple things that were in the sale flyer, I found they also had lunchmeat on sale, another thing on my list. Or so I thought... they apparently had forgotten to pull tags from a previous ad and so they wound up giving me 3 pkgs of lunchmeat that is normally $3.50/pk for free! Whoohoo! Then on to grocery store #2... perfect hole in traffic out of the first store parking lot all the way into the turn lane to get to store #2 and what do I find? That I have a green light and no one in front of me! Excellent! So I had this scratch ticket from store #2 that gives me $5 off any of their brand of beef. So I get 2 free steaks :D yea for free beef! Then they have all these 2 for 1 deals and then I find cereal on sale, with an extra coupon, and a coupon taped to the box for a free box of bisquick, the big size even! Woot! More free stuff! So first store savings was over 50% and second store's savings was 62%, saving me around $100! Great shopping.. and I still managed to hit great traffic all the way home!!! I like shopping days like that... Now I get to sit and chill for a few hours until I get ready to go to work later... I close tonight. If it's as slow as it's been lately, we'll be out of there in no time. So all in all it's been a great day, and hopefully continues to be :D
